Agent rule (Linkubit)
Definition
An agent rule is a line the AI cannot cross, enforced in code before an action and before a reply leaves: no discounts beyond the ones listed, no price not read from the catalogue, hand refunds to a person, never promise a delivery date. A rule the agent would like changed becomes a request for a human — it can draft one and can never approve one.

Where it runs
- Before a tool call: the action is refused if a rule forbids it.
- Before a send: the reply is checked for a price it did not read, a promise it may not make.
- On a topic: a message about a listed subject is handed to a person before the agent answers.
Why not in the prompt
A prompt is advice; a model can be talked out of advice. A gate in code is not listening to the customer.
