Authentication template

Definition

An authentication template carries a one-time code — for a login, a sign-up, a transaction. Meta writes the body for you (the code as {{1}} plus a fixed sentence), offers a copy-code or one-tap button, and charges ₹0.115 per message in India.

What is fixed

The wording. You choose whether to add 'this code expires in N minutes' and a security disclaimer; the rest is Meta's text, which is why a custom body is refused.

When to use it

Only for a code. A message that carries a code and anything else — a welcome, an offer — is not authentication and will be recategorised.
