Cheapest WhatsApp Business API in India: pay Meta's rate once, ₹0 for the software until you outgrow it
There is no cheaper WhatsApp than Meta's price list; what differs between providers is the mark-up and the subscription. The cheapest legitimate path, a month costed at three sizes, and the cheap options that get a number banned.
The cheapest WhatsApp Business API in India is the one where you pay Meta's published rate for messages and nothing on top, and ₹0 for the software until you need more than a free plan gives. Meta's access is free for everyone; its India rates are ₹0.8631 for a marketing template, ₹0.115 for a utility one and, from 1 October 2026, ₹0.115 for a reply inside the window, before GST. What makes one provider dearer than another is a mark-up on those rates and the subscription — so "cheapest" is a question about the mark-up first and the plan second. Linkubit's ₹0 plan and Starter at ₹499 bill Meta's rate with nothing added; it is ours, and the working is below.

What "cheap" has to mean here
There is no cheaper WhatsApp than anyone else's. Every provider — every one — sends through Meta's platform at Meta's price list; the API itself costs nothing to access. A bill for WhatsApp has three lines, and only two of them can be cheaper anywhere:
- Meta's messages. Fixed. ₹0.8631 marketing, ₹0.115 utility or authentication, ₹0.115 for a reply inside the window from 1 October 2026, in India before GST. Nobody can sell these for less, and Meta bills the account that sends them.
- The mark-up. Some providers bill you for Meta's messages on a rate card of their own. This line is zero at a provider that passes Meta's rate through, and at a few thousand messages a month it is often larger than the subscription at one that does not.
- The subscription. ₹0 on a free tier; a few hundred to a few thousand rupees a month after that.
The cheapest legitimate path
- Connect your own account through Embedded Signup with a Tech Provider, so Meta bills you directly at its rate and the number stays yours. How to get the API — about fifteen minutes.
- Start on a free tier. Linkubit's is ₹0 with 30 AI replies a month, 150 contacts and one number; AiSensy's is the API and an inbox with no broadcasting; Interakt's is Instagram only. Meta's per-message charges apply on every free tier.
- Pay for messages once. Ask any provider one question in writing: "Do you bill me Meta's published rate, or your own rate card?" The providers guide records the answer each pricing page gives.
- Send fewer, better messages. From October a reply costs the same as a utility template; three messages where one would do is three times the bill. The October guide has the five things to change.
What a month costs at three sizes
Meta's rate with nothing added, before GST, from 1 October 2026; a reply is a service message, a reminder is a utility template, an offer is a marketing template. Software is Linkubit's plan beside it — ours; every figure is from pricing and the rate card.
| A month of | Replies | Reminders | Offers | Meta's bill | Software |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A one-person shop | 300 | 100 | 0 | ₹46 | ₹0 (Free, 30 AI replies) |
| A small team | 2,000 | 500 | 1,000 | ₹1,151 | ₹499 (Starter, 100 AI replies) |
| A busy business | 8,000 | 2,000 | 5,000 | ₹5,466 | ₹999 (Pro, 300 AI replies) |
Put the same volumes through a provider that marks up Meta's rate and the difference is on the first line, not the last. The cost calculator prints your own month with GST and the plan that fits.
What is cheap and gets you banned
A tool that automates the WhatsApp app, a "WhatsApp API" that costs nothing per message, a bulk sender that needs your phone plugged in: these use the consumer app or unofficial clients, which Meta detects and bans — the number, sometimes the business portfolio. The saving is the price of the number. The official API is free to access; the part that costs is the messages, and they cost the same everywhere.
Linkubit, plainly
Linkubit is the one we make, so take this as the maker's case: a ₹0 plan, ₹499 a month after it, Meta's rate with nothing added, and an AI that answers, qualifies, quotes from your catalogue and takes the payment on every plan. Where a broadcast-first team may still prefer another tool is on connectors and channels — the comparison pages say which, dated.
What is the cheapest WhatsApp Business API provider in India?
Any provider that bills Meta's published rate with nothing added and starts at ₹0 — Linkubit's Free plan does both; AiSensy has a free tier without broadcasting. Meta's per-message rates are the same at every provider.
Can I get the WhatsApp Business API for free?
Access, yes — Meta charges nothing for it. Messages are charged per message by Meta (₹0.115 utility, ₹0.8631 marketing in India), and the customer's messages are free.
Is there a cheaper way to send WhatsApp messages than the API?
The free app is cheaper for one person on one phone, with no automation and no broadcasting beyond lists. Unofficial bulk senders are cheaper until the number is banned, which is soon.
How much does the cheapest WhatsApp Business API plan cost?
₹0 on Linkubit's Free plan (30 AI replies, 150 contacts), then ₹499 a month for Starter. Meta's messages are billed separately, at Meta's rate.
Do providers add a mark-up to Meta's rates?
Some do — their pricing pages say messages are charged on the provider's own rate card. Others, Linkubit included, pass Meta's rate through. At volume the mark-up is the largest difference between providers.
