Click-to-chat link (wa.me)
Definition
A click-to-chat link is a URL — https://wa.me/ followed by a number with its country code — that opens a WhatsApp chat with that number in one tap. Add ?text= and a message to pre-fill the customer's first line. It works on any phone with WhatsApp installed and on WhatsApp Web.

The shape
- https://wa.me/919876543210 — opens the chat.
- https://wa.me/919876543210?text=Hi%2C%20I%27d%20like%20a%20quote — opens it with the message typed.
- The number is digits only: country code, then the number, no plus, no spaces, no leading zero.
Where to put it
A website button, an Instagram bio, an email signature, a QR code on print. The first message the customer sends opens the 24-hour window, so the pre-filled text is worth writing as the question you most want to be asked.
