Shared inbox (team inbox)
Definition
A shared inbox is one queue of conversations from every channel — WhatsApp, email, Instagram DM, Messenger — that a whole team works from, with an owner per conversation, a note of who is typing, and the customer's record beside the thread. It replaces one phone passed around the office.

What makes it work
- Ownership: one person answers a thread, and everyone can see who.
- Collision: a warning when two people open the same thread.
- Handover: an AI or a colleague can take a thread and give it back without the customer noticing.
- The window: the inbox shows whether a free-form reply is still allowed or a template is needed.
