WABA (WhatsApp Business Account)
A WABA — WhatsApp Business Account — is the container Meta creates for a business on the WhatsApp Business Platform. It owns the phone numbers, the message templates, the sending limits and the billing; one business portfolio can hold several.

What lives in it
- The phone numbers you send from, each with its own display name and quality rating.
- Every message template you have submitted, with its approval status.
- The payment method Meta bills for messages.
- The messaging limit — how many new customers you may message in a day.
The ID
The WABA ID is the long number in WhatsApp Manager's URL and in the API. A tool asks for it when you connect a number, and Meta's webhooks carry it so the tool knows which business a template-status change belongs to.
What is a WABA on WhatsApp?
A WhatsApp Business Account — the container Meta creates for a business on the WhatsApp Business Platform. It holds the phone numbers, message templates, messaging limits and billing; one business portfolio can hold several.
How do I get a WABA?
Embedded Signup inside a provider's product, or the developer console, creates one in a few minutes; you need a Meta Business Portfolio and a number not already on WhatsApp. Creating it is free.
What is the WABA ID for?
It is how software and Meta name the account: templates, numbers and the billing line all hang off it, and a provider connects to the WABA by its ID through Embedded Signup.
Can a WABA have several phone numbers?
Yes. Each number has its own phone number ID, display name, quality rating and messaging limit; templates are shared across the numbers in the account.
