A BSP, or Business Solution Provider, is a company Meta has listed as a partner for the WhatsApp Business Platform. Historically the only way to get the API; since the Cloud API, any tool with an approved Meta app can connect a number, and the badge mostly signals scale rather than access.

What it meant
Before 2022 a business reached the API through a BSP's hosted infrastructure and paid the BSP's rates. Many BSPs still bill messages themselves with a mark-up on Meta's price.
What it means now
With the Cloud API, Meta hosts the infrastructure and bills the business directly. A tool does not need partner status to offer Embedded Signup; it needs an app that has passed Meta's review. Whether the tool marks up messages is a commercial choice, not a technical one — look for it on the pricing page.
