Drip campaign (sequence)

Definition

A drip campaign is a series of messages sent on a schedule — day 0, day 3, day 7 — to people who have not yet replied, stopping the moment they do. On WhatsApp each step is a template; on email each is a mail from the business's own domain with a reply address a person reads.

What stops it

A reply, an opt-out, a booking, a payment — any sign the person moved. A sequence that keeps sending after the customer answered is the fastest way to a block.

Cold versus warm

Meta permits no cold outreach on WhatsApp: a sequence there goes to people who opted in. Cold outreach is email, from a verified domain, with an unsubscribe link that works.
