Quality rating
The quality rating is Meta's green, yellow or red score for a WhatsApp number, based on how customers react to its messages over the last seven days — blocks, reports and the reasons given. Red for long enough lowers the messaging limit or pauses the number.

What moves it
- Blocks and 'report spam' on messages you started.
- Templates that get poor reactions — Meta pauses the template itself first.
- Sending to people who never agreed to hear from you.
Keeping it green
Message people who opted in, make every marketing template easy to opt out of, and reply fast when they answer. A number that mostly replies rather than broadcasts almost never drops.
What is the WhatsApp quality rating?
Meta's green, yellow or red score for a phone number, from how customers reacted to its messages over the last seven days — blocks, reports and the reasons given. It is shown in WhatsApp Manager per number.
What lowers a WhatsApp quality rating?
Customers blocking or reporting the number, mostly after marketing messages they did not ask for, sent too often, or at the wrong time. Templates that read as spam and audiences that never opted in are the usual causes.
What happens when the quality rating is red?
Meta puts the number in a warning state; if it stays red, the messaging limit is lowered a tier, and a number that keeps sending can be restricted. Recovery is a week of sending only to people who wanted the message.
How do I improve my quality rating?
Send marketing only to a recorded opt-in, honour STOP immediately, keep templates informative and infrequent, and answer replies quickly. The rating recovers as the seven-day window rolls forward with fewer blocks.
