WhatsApp Business display name rules, and how to change a rejected name

The rules

• It represents your business, or one of its products, services or departments, and matches your branding elsewhere (website, signage).
• It has a clear link to your legal business name. Abbreviations are fine ("FP Cold Pressed Juices"); use "by [company]" when the link isn't obvious.
• A person's name only with context that makes the business clear ("Dr Mehta Dental Clinic", not "Dr Mehta").
• Not a generic word alone ("Juice", "Real Estate"), a place ("Mumbai"), anything suggesting verification ("Official", "Verified"), a reference to WhatsApp, Facebook or Meta, promotional language ("Best Prices"), or a website or email address.
• An agency or reseller must show the relationship on its website.

When the review happens

You can start messaging immediately — no review is needed first. The name becomes eligible for review once your business qualifies for higher messaging limits (verify the business, or send enough good-quality messages). Customers see the name in the chat header once it is approved; until then, and whenever they have saved you as a contact, they see the number or their own name for you.

Change the name

1. In Meta Business Suite open WhatsApp Manager, choose your account, then Phone numbers.
2. Press the pencil beside the display name, type the new one and press Next.
3. The new name goes to review. Up to 10 changes are allowed in 30 days. Press Check now on Linkubit's WhatsApp card to see the new status.
